Most review pages only show five-star quotes next to stock photography. We do it differently: every photo on this page came from an actual buyer of the mat and pillow set, sourced from our supplier's verified-purchase program, and every quote is the buyer's own words (translated where the original wasn't in English, with the original sentiment preserved rather than polished up). You'll see the sharpest compliments and the flattest complaints side by side — a buyer who found the spikes "weak," another who thought the mat looked bigger in the photos, and a few who just left a picture with no comment at all. That mix is the point: it's what a real order history looks like.
How we collect and choose these photos
Our process is manual and deliberately conservative. Maya Ellison, our curator, opened all 43 photo submissions attached to verified orders of the mat and pillow set and reviewed them one at a time. From that batch, 29 made the cut you see on this page. The other 14 were rejected for specific reasons, not because the feedback was negative:
- Packaging-only shots. Several photos showed only the sealed carry bag, with no mat or pillow visible — not useful evidence of the actual product.
- Blurry or unclear images. A handful of photos were too out of focus to make out the mat, the color, or the construction.
- Third-party branding visible. A couple of photos included another brand's logo or packaging in frame, which we won't publish to avoid confusion about whose product is shown.
- Personal information visible. One photo showed a shipping label with legible personal details and was excluded to protect that buyer's privacy.
- Two photos tied to a fulfillment mix-up. Two buyers received only the pillow instead of the full set they ordered. We flagged that internally with our fulfillment team, but we won't publish those two reviews here, since the complaint was about a shipping error rather than the product itself once correctly received.
We do not edit, retouch, or crop out anything that would change what the photo shows, and we do not pay for or incentivize any of these reviews — that would be illegal under FTC endorsement guidance, and it isn't how we operate. What you see below is what buyers actually sent in.
What buyers say, in their own words
Reading through all 29 comments, the same handful of observations repeat. Several buyers specifically compare the price favorably to what they'd pay in a store for similar quality. A few flag that the cover fabric is thin — accurate, and consistent with what we say on our how we test page. A small number felt the mat "looks longer in photos" than it measures in person; ours is a 66 × 40 cm mat, a compact format rather than a full-body-length one, and we say so plainly on the product page rather than let photos oversell the size. And a couple of buyers wanted a sharper, more intense spike — which is a fair, honest data point we don't try to talk anyone out of.

A note on the lower ratings
We'd rather you see the "weak" and "the spikes could be more pronounced" comments now, before you order, than have you surprised later. If intensity is your top priority, our testing notes describe exactly how the sensation builds over a session, and our benefits page is honest about what a mat like this can and can't do.
Why the color labels here might differ from the order SKU. Some buyers photograph their mat against different lighting or on top of other fabric, which can shift how a color reads in a thumbnail. Where our own visual inspection of a photo showed a clearly different shade than the order's color code, we labeled the photo by what the picture actually shows, not by the SKU on file. That's a small thing, but it's the kind of accuracy check we apply throughout how we test.
